Helping customers to register barcodes

Barcode Registration is an optional free service for customers, with the advantage for them that a registered barcode is more easily located online.

From our point of view, the Barcode Registration option also helps to reassure customers of our IBN network professionalism and legitimacy.

Customers can self-register, but sometimes make mistakes and need help, or make mistakes that we need to troubleshoot and manually correct.

So troubleshooting and helping customers through this registration procedure is a service that we (IBN network) provide.


When customers buy an EAN-13 or UPC-A barcode, they receive their barcode number and files by Email.

The Email also provides instructions for how they can optionally register their barcode numbers and product details on

How customers register (as per their Email instructions):
  1. They go to and search for their Email address.
  2. When they find it they are asked to verify that this is their Email address.
  3. They then receive an Email from that prompts them to register their barcode by completing the online registration form.

What can go wrong, and what do we do?

If customers don’t receive the verification email for some reason

Email us at [email protected] and ask us to mark that customer’s email address as verified in

Once we’ve done that manually, the customer should be able to register their barcode number without any issues.

If one of your customers made a minor error when registering their product details on the database

( for example, they entered the wrong product name )

Email us at [email protected] to let us know what needs changing and we can manually correct it in the database.

If your customer…
  • is unable to register their barcodes on , or
  • has a large block of barcode numbers that they want to register, and registering them one at a time will be very time-consuming

… then please ask them to complete the Registration Template excel document as follows:

  1. You need to download this document
  2. Email it to your customer and ask them to complete it ( entering their product details into “row 2” ), and return it to you.
  3. Email the completed document back to us at [email protected]
  4. We will upload it manually to
To see a full list of barcode numbers successfully issued and registered to a particular customer

Go to   and search for the customer’s email address.

  • A list of all their barcode numbers (issued by any IBN website to that customer’s email address) will show up.
  • If the barcode numbers have been registered on, product details will show up in   ,
  • If the barcode numbers haven’t been registered then only the customer name and email will show up.

TIP:   These procedures are difficult to memorise, so print them out or bookmark this page for future reference.
